🧪 Open Testing: How to Get In - Client 3.3.5a
🧪 The test server is open
The zombie world is playable right now and the doors are open: anyone can come in, look around and tell us what is broken. It is a test - play it if you want, nothing here is final, and all characters will be wiped before launch.
What you need to get in
- World of Warcraft 3.3.5a - Wrath of the Lich King. A clean 3.3.5a client works; other versions will not connect.
- An account on this site - register here, then use the same login and password in the game.
- This realmlist:
set realmlist logon.ogwow.cc- put it in therealmlist.wtffile inside the Data folder of your client (the folder named after your language, for example enUS).
🚀 The launcher is out - one click and you are in
Download it here: OGWOW.exe (Windows, 17 MB). The same file is behind the gold button on the front page.
The launcher finds your game client, installs the client patches for your language and the OGWOW HUD addon - the on-screen hunger and thirst bars - and writes the realmlist for you. Press Play and the game starts.
It keeps itself and everything it installed up to date: on every start it checks the site, compares the files by checksum and downloads only what really changed. When a new launcher build is out, an Update bar appears at the top - nothing to download by hand.
The manual steps above still work, and the game runs fine without the launcher: you lose the on-screen survival HUD and the faction name next to your character on the selection screen - nothing else.
What is waiting for you inside
- Three factions and a quarantine camp where you pick one - once.
- Hunger, thirst and infection: the world does not feed you, and the dead are contagious.
- Thousands of the infected, five kinds of walkers, and five boss-tier horrors that drop real gear.
- Water and food off the corpses - spoiled, but sometimes the only thing between you and the road.
The full list of what already works is in the previous post: Infection, Water and the Five Horrors.
Testing is open and completely voluntary: come in, break things, and tell us on Discord what felt wrong. Launch date - soon, in the announcements.
